The Sorbonne Master’s Program in Cinema, TV and New Media launches a think tank dedicated to digital disruption and its consequences on the media and entertainment industries.

This think tank will start its work from Jan 8th to 21st 2016 at the Sorbonne, at the invitation of François Garçon, director of the Master’s Program. The think tank’s initial sessions will be online under the code name Massive Open Online Disruption/Debate and via the #MOOD2016 hashtag. This will allow all interested parties to follow the debates and participate.

We’ve chosen an innovative format of the “flipped classroom”, which entails providing the curriculum to students at the outset, to allow productive debates to take place.

The Master’s program students will create and manage a complete portfolio of content linked to each session. The production will be broadcast across 7 channels: a podcast on Soundclound, livetweet on Twitter, curated links and notes on Facebook, presentation decks on Slideshare, blog posts onLinkedin, Medium and on the Master’s program’s blog.

Industry professionals will come to debate with the students during 9 successive roundtable discussions on the following topics:

The book industry: #Amazonisation or reinvention ?

Pierre Fremaux (Babelio.com), Guillaume Pech-Gourg (Hachette Livre), Nicolas d’Estienne d’Orves (Ecrivain journaliste)

The press industry: #Buzzfeedisation or atomization ?

Sandrine Matichard (Stratégies), Henri Nidjam (Nouvel Economiste)

The music industry: #Napsterisation or #Spotification ?

Gérard Schmidt (Wedemand.com), Jeanne Bitker (Consultante), Yvan Boudillet (Warner Music)

The television industry: #YouTubisation or resurrection ?

Gabrielle Cuinier (Victorious.com), Mihai Crasneanu (Greyjuice Lab), Virginie Maire (Finder Studios)

Cinema and content on demand: #Netflixisation or #iTunesisation ?

Frédéric Guarino (Producteur), Giuseppe de Martino (DailyMotion)

Brands are media : #RedBullisation or new advertising ?

Hervé Kabla (BeAngels), Christophe Lachnitt (Superception.fr)

The videogame industry: matrix of all disruptions ?

Hugues Ouvrard (XBOX/Microsoft), Thomas Grellier (Consultant)

Search and big data: Is the #Googlisation of the web a foregone conclusion ?

Jeremy Harroch (Quantmetry)

Social media: Is the #Facebookisation of the web inevitable ?

Fabien Loszach (Brad), Clara Schmelck (Socialter)

Three daily practitioners of disruption: Alexandre Michelin, SVP of Spicee Media, Laura Ghebali, consultant and social network researcher at Be Angels and Frédéric Guarino, innovation consultant and founder of Montréal’s VR Valley Network will encourage the discussions on digital disruption and its consequences on the media and entertainment industries.

We’re inviting each and everyone of you to follow these roundtable talks and the work of our students throughout January, across all platforms, via the #MOOD2016 hashtag.
